Hello hello everyone! I wanted to drop in and have a chat with y’all about where I want to see the blog go in the future. You may have noticed a lack of content not only here, but also on insta. This is because I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and planning lately. I’ve been hoping to really narrow in on what I want the blog to do for me and I’ve finally decided to make some changes.
Ever since I started Elle S’appelle Sarah, I was trying to fit into what I thought a ‘good blog’ should be. I read every website, watched every YouTube video, listened to every podcast about how to start and grow a blog. While I did have a good plan for the first few months and I was putting out content pretty regularly, I wasn’t feeling fulfilled with what I was doing. I felt like I was putting out content just to put out content. I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a super creative person, but I want to utilize what I do have. This blog is more a passion project than anything else, and I really don’t want to lose sight of that. In all honestly, I don’t intend on doing this as a career or have this turn into anything more than a fun, creative release for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love interacting with everyone on here and sharing my thoughts and ideas with y’all, but my career just isn’t in blogging. Being present in this little community that’s been built is something that’s really important to me, but it can feel overwhelming at times. Because of this, I’m going to be doing things a bit differently
I’m going to start focusing more on the writing aspect of blogging. I’ll still put out fashion posts from time to time, but I was so focused on being a fashion blogger that I didn’t think I could post anything else, so I posted nothing. I want to share parts of my life with this little corner of the internet. I want to use this as a platform to help us grow, and learn, and bring joy to our lives. I want to live passionately and be present in the moment. So that’s what I’m going to strive to do from now on. This blog is a place for me to share my thoughts with y’all, in hopes that it might benefit just a single person.
So here’s to changing things up. I hope you enjoy reading the new content as much as I enjoy producing it.
Until next time,
Happy Sunday y’all! I’m so excited to finally be sharing these pictures with you. This is one of my go to outfits and it’s super simple. It lets me look put together without really trying, which is everything I need in my life. Stripes are such a classic look and when I pair them with my favorite denim I’m never upset. I hope you enjoy this look! Continue reading “Sunday Stripes”
Now that the weather is FINALLY starting to warm up, I thought it was the perfect time to share this super cute spring outfit. I’ve always really struggled with spring clothes because I didn’t often wear florals and I tend to stick to fall colors like navy, maroon and olive. I found this shirt and figured it would be the perfect piece for me to help me figure out what works for me as far as spring patterns and colors go. I also adore the ruffle detail around the collar. I paired it with white jeans to brighten up the outfit and my favorite (and very well loved) sperries. Continue reading “Spring Florals”
Hey y’all! I’m writing this while I’m sitting outside in between classes and I couldn’t be happier to be enjoying the sunshine! For today’s post I’ve put together a quick gift guide for when it’s your best friends birthday and you can’t seem to come up with something adequate to show her your love. This is definitely focused towards the ladies with spring and summer birthdays but I’m thinking of putting out another as fall begins to roll around. Anyways, here’s the gift guide I promised y’all. Hope you enjoy! Continue reading “Gift Guide for the Best Friend”
Hey everyone! As the end of the semester quickly approaches it’s easy to get overwhelmed by everything that you need to do. Today I’m going to be sharing with you some of the things that helped me pull my life together when it felt like everything was coming at me all too fast. Continue reading “What to do When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed in College”
In like a lion out like a lamb. That’s what March is supposed to be right? If only, if only. March for me has been absolutely crazy as I had two rounds of exams, birthdays, holidays, end of the year fundraisers and events, and the start of finals because everything else just wasn’t enough. Continue reading “March Recap and Chit Chat”
Happy Monday everyone! I don’t know about you but school is finishing up for us and everyone is getting ready to move away for the summer. Some of us are going home and others will be going to different parts of the country for internships and summer traveling. One of the best parts about going to a huge university means I get to meet people from all over, but this also means we tend to spread out during the summer months. All of this moving can make staying in touch hard because my friends and I won’t be seeing each other just about every day. To beat this, I’ve put together a few of my best tips for staying in contact with friends when you’re not together. Continue reading “Staying in Contact After Moving”
